Mangalore: “Namaz is a good yoga for Muslims. If you observe it with full obedience to God, it would be a great yoga. All features of yoga are in the same” said president of Pathanjali Yoga Samithi Narayana Swami, who was speaking to a Health Awareness Program conducted by Popular Front of India, Dakshina Kannada district unit, near State Bank, Mangalore. Marathon and Yoga demonstration was conducted as [more] part of the program. A student of Narayan swami demonstrated Yoga and Narayan swami explained its benefit.

He commended Popular Front for its effort to build a healthy society by creating awareness among the people about their health. It the end of the demonstration he also made gathering to observe mediation. Speaking to gathering Popular Front of India district president Anwar Sadath said, his organization was conducting the same program at national level in sixteen states. He also added that his organization would hold Yoga training camps and he asked interested to participate in the same.
“In birth there were no differences between human beings. But people created it in the names of cast and religion. To clear such inequality in society there is a need of creating healthy minds in the people and healthy body can only create healthy minds. In order to build healthy society such effort from Popular Front is commendable” said Chief Guest Krishna Murthi, a lecturer in St. Aloysius College Mangalore, who flagged off the marathon.
Quoting that Prevention is better than Cure, he called gathering to make use of Indian culture like Yoga and Mediation to avoid spending money to doctors. Earlier Popular Front of India had conducted district level Sports Day. Winners and runners received awards in this program and Imtiyaz Bantwal was awarded district champion.
Popular Front state working committee member, Razaq Kemmara and Rohithaksha were present at the program. Riyaz Farangipete welcomed gathering while Ismail Malar delivered vote of thanks and Nazeer Thumbe coordinated the program.
